OPENING ACT - KASIM SULTON

KASIM SULTON

Somebody Loves You
Cliche
Before She Was Gone
Sacrifice
Ticket To Ride - At the request of Meat Loaf

We headed on down to the Venue a little before 5pm. It was quite a walk and the heat was sweltering! Not so sure I could live in this heat all yr round. Got to meet a few more fans here. Kathy, Emily and Kim to name a few. When we got there the box office had a poster up for the show which also mentioned Kasim opening. I was supposed to go back after the show, but come that time I was so depressed it was all over I forgot :-( Luckily Jules took a picture of it.

Me and Kasim - with his newly acquired bum fluff :-D Why do I always look at the wrong camera!

After the Meet and Greet we wondered on down to the bar and met Beck's and Lou. Good to finally meet them in person :-)

After finally tracking down the only bar with Southern Comfort we headed down to our seats ready for Kasim's opening set.

Kasim opened the show tonight in Cleveland, much to my delight :-) Getting to see Kasim open in the US made my trip all the more special. Before the show I managed to get to thank Meat for having Kasim open tonight, can't remember exactly how the convo went but it was something along the lines of...  Meat had been trying to get Kasim to open at some of the shows, but the opening acts are up to the venues or something like that. But Meat was happy he was opening anyway :-)

Sitting with Lou made it even better as usually the crowd doesn't get to enthusiastic at a Kasim set (fools) and I'm usually left being one of the only ones who shows any enthusiasm, but Lou was enthusiastic enough for the whole venue lol.  Kasim started with the Nik Kershaw song Somebody Loves You. I love Kasim's version of this song. Kasim also played it at his Manchester solo show earlier in the tour. Then came Cliche, followed by Before She Was Gone and Sacrifice. I was expecting the set to end there as in the UK the most Kasim did was four songs, but tonight we got lucky :-) Meat Loaf had requested that Kasim do Ticket To Ride by The Beatles. This was amazing! The crowd loved it. All to soon it was over, but Kasim said he'd be back soon with Meat Loaf.
