Party In The Park Programme
A few pix from the Party In The Park website
Well what can I say! Party in the park was an experience never to be forgotten, for more than one reason, but you're only interested in the Meaty aspect lol... After a very long drive back from Plymouth we arrived at Hyde Park about 4am!! Not to many people there luckily which meant we could still get to the front, most of us didn't get any sleep at all that night. Apart from a few short cat naps in car.. If any of you was listening to Capital radio before Party In The Park & you heard some idiot having to waffle about Meat In Plymouth etc, It was me. Not quite sure how it happened! After a very agonising 5 and a half hrs they decided to let us in an hr early that advertised at 9.30am. Which wasn't to good for my daughter Sam who was still on the bus on her way to Hyde Park with group of friends. After a mad dash to the front, we got where we wanted, right in front of Kas's mic stand. Sam was in General admission area & was also on that barrier (Meat was only a dot to her from there lol.) Well now we had another long wait till Meat came on. Denise Van Outen, Kate (from Big Brother 4) & Duncan (from Blue) mainly hosted the show. While the show was on I got a few pix of them, here's a few. Also one of Foxy!
This was believe it or not, my 3rd party In The Park out of 6. The first time I actually went just for the sheer fun of it & the 2nd was to see Bon Jovi We had some pretty good support bands for Meat to watch while we waited though;-)
1st on was Daniel Bedingfield, who sang 3 songs. One being a great version of "I gotta get through this"
Then we had Girls Aloud They won Pop stars the rivals this yr.. They did 2 songs
Then while waiting for Mel C, Kate, Denise & Duncan came on stage. Kate managed to get Duncans top off!
The next up Was Melanie C from The Spice Girls
Next was Craig David
Sugar babes were next...
Next was the very cute Gareth Gates.
Spencer from Eastenders ( this ones for you Jamie:-) was watching Gareth, so I got a pic
The last support act was Mel C again, but this time on the acoustic stage, so they could set up Meats stuff.
Finally what we had came for!
These pix are taken from screen shots.
I don't think they had enough time to set things up properly & there seems to be of been a few hitches. They started off with Couldn't have said it better. Meats mic wasn't working to well at the beginning of it. & the sound we was hearing, wasn't the same as what I heard on the TV later. All in all I enjoyed the performance. The band all looked good, Patti had same clothes on from Plymouth, Renee was looking very bright. Kas looked good, as did Randy Flowers:-) saw a lot of the young girls eyeing him up lol. Meat was all in black again, with his red scarf. Jon was hidden away on his drums but looked good. the only one that had me slightly baffled was Mark lol. I couldn't help but think he looked like a pimp out of something like Miami Vice or Starsky & Hutch! Sorry Mark lol. Paul wasn't shown much on the TV, not sure why cause he looked & sounded really good.
Next they played Bat out of hell, which amazingly got dropped from the TV broadcast, they finished with Anything for love. Here's some screen shots from it.
All to soon it was over. Chris Tarrant had to come on stage to take Meat off lol..
These pix are from my camera and I've finally got them scanned:-)
Just before the band came out, Kasim came out from the side of the stage and took a pic of the crowd, we managed to catch is eye:-)
The TV broadcast wasn't as it had been shown live. They cut Couldn't have said it better, to show Weatus doing an interview, with Meat playing in the background. The lead singer did say he was a Meat loaf fan though, which was their cue to cut to Meat on stage, half way through song. A bit later on they showed Anything for love, but left Bat out completely. There was a few references to Meat throughout the show, mostly were about him not wanting to get off stage & going over his time. There was also an interview with meat in the garden.
Meat said that Beonce had stole her booty shake from him lol & at the end of his interview he made the presenters do it with him. Wheatus also sang a new line in Teenage dirtbag. Can't think of it off hand right now, but will find it soon.
After Kasim had been on, We went away from the barrier, I got a few pix of a few other bands. Here they are....
